— We are pleased to announce that two experienced and compassionate nurse practitioners have joined our practice. Meet Jessica Mercado and Gladys Hernandez.

Jessica Mercado, FNP-C

Jessica Mercado is a highly skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in healthcare that includes primary care, endocrinology, critical care, hospice and palliative care, and various other specialties. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Valparaiso University before advancing her education at Indiana Wesleyan University, where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.

With a strong commitment to patient-centered care, Jessica takes pride in building lasting relationships with her patients and empowering them to achieve their best health. Her extensive experience across multiple fields has provided her with well-rounded expertise in treating acute and chronic conditions with compassion. She is dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualized care to patients of all ages.

Beyond her professional career, Jessica is a devoted wife and mother of three. She cherishes family time, whether it’s spent fishing and camping in the great outdoors or cheering on her favorite football and hockey teams. At home, she enjoys the company of her two beloved dogs and finds relaxation in a good book. Above all, she finds immense joy in being a mom and creating lasting memories with her family.

Gladys Hernandez, FNP-C

Gladys Hernandez is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with nine years of experience in the healthcare industry. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University Northwest and a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Northwest. Her clinical expertise spans primary care as well as inpatient care, having worked as a registered nurse in several hospital settings, including the Intermediate Medical Care Unit, Surgical Observation Unit, and Oncology.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Gladys takes a holistic approach to patient care, focusing on building strong relationships with her patients and providing high-quality, personalized treatment. She is deeply committed to making a positive impact on her patients’ health and well-being. Whether she is helping a patient manage a chronic condition or guiding them through preventative care, Gladys strives to ensure that everyone receives compassionate, thorough care.
