Rita Franzen is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pain Management.  She collaborates with our physicians in an office setting providing care to patients. She also evaluates, treats and manages patients who suffer from chronic pain, discussing individualized care options, including conservative, interventional, and alternative treatment plans.

Rita joined Midwest Interventional Spine Specialists in June of 2003.  She graduated from Purdue University with Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner degrees.   She is a member of the Society of Nurses in Advance Practice (SNAP) and the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Rita has 50 years of nursing experience including work as an Interim Clinical Instructor, Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and Care Coordinator of a Subacute Care Unit. She has a profound interest in helping the most challenging patients by implementing effective alternative interventions for managing pain, in addition to traditional treatment options.

Rita lives in Lowell, Indiana with her husband who is a 6th grade Science teacher.  She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and socializing with friends at their lake house.
