Profile
Dr. Shetty has been with MISS since the fall of 2017. He specializes in advanced, minimally invasive spine and pain procedures, including neuromodulation, regenerative medicine, and fluoroscopically guided interventional pain techniques. Since joining MISS, Dr. Shetty has been at the forefront of introducing innovative spine and pain therapies in Northwest Indiana. These include minimally invasive lumbar decompression, posterior sacroiliac joint fusion, basivertebral nerve ablation (BVNA), and other advanced interventional procedures designed to improve patient outcomes, reduce pain, and restore function. He is passionate about patient education and routinely hosts seminars that introduce patients to life-changing interventional pain therapies.
Hobbies/Special Interests
Dr. Shetty lives in the Chicago region with his wife, Dr. Suzette Luke, an ophthalmologist. Outside of medicine, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Professional Achievements
Dr. Shetty holds advanced certifications in interventional pain medicine through both the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and the World Institute of Pain, where he earned the title “Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice.” He is among a select group of physicians in Indiana to hold this dual distinction. In addition, he remains actively involved with the World Institute of Pain as both a member and educator, where he contributes to physician education and training in advanced interventional pain techniques worldwide. Additionally, he is a member of the inaugural Minimally Invasive Spine Certification class through the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience (ASPN).
Publications & Presentations
Dr. Shetty serves as a review board member for Pain Physician Journal, one of the leading peer-reviewed journals in interventional pain management, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based research and clinical best practices within the field.
Dr. Shetty is also actively involved with Becker’s Healthcare. He is an active contributor to the Becker’s Healthcare Podcast where he regularly participates in interviews and provides expert commentary on trends in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), physician-led care models, and the evolution of outpatient spine and pain procedures. He also serves as a speaker at the Becker’s Spine, Orthopedic, and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference, where he shares insights into the expanding role of interventional pain in the ASC setting.
