Lisa has over sixteen years’ experience working in the healthcare field. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Science of Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. Lisa has clinical skills in adult geriatrics, pediatric care, family care, and pain management and also has experience in leadership roles, safety council, and ethics committee. She uses an evidence-based approach to give patients the best care possible with the best outcomes. Lisa has worked most of my nursing career as a rehab nurse and has experience with orthopedics, med/surgical, and oncology units as well.
Lisa was inspired to be an advanced practice nurse because she felt that patients need an advocate to give the best care, education, and options in making health decisions. Her desire is to answer all questions when educating and assisting with medications wherever possible. Good communication with patients makes a difference in getting the best results in their health outcomes. Observing and listening is the key to getting information from patients. Keeping a positive attitude for her patients make a good environment and gives patients a comfort level to form a great relationship.
In her free time, she loves listening to music and going to concerts, enjoying warm weather and planting flowers that she plucks for centerpieces in her home. A good movie or book is nice to relax to as well. Lisa is a member of ANA and AANP. In the future, she hopes to teach fellow nurses and encourage them to achieve their dreams just as she has done.
