NEWS RELEASE – Northwest Indiana – Advancements in Medicine

Dr. Nikhil Shetty Performs the First PainTEQ® LinQ Procedure

for Chronic Sacroiliac Joint Pain

MUNSTER, IN (Oct. 2023) – For over 25 years, Midwest Interventional Spine Specialists (M.I.S.S.) has been the first to use numerous initially innovative procedures and treatment strategies, that are now the standard of care in Northwest Indiana. The latest M.I.S.S. “first” is the PainTEQ® LinQ™ procedure for Sacroiliac (SI) Joint stabilization. Almost one third of all low back pain is caused by dysfunction in the SI joints.

The PainTEQ® LinQ™ procedure is a breakthrough treatment for chronic SI joint pain in the lower back, hips, or legs. This minimally-invasive-option places a small allograft in the center of the SI joint, to stabilize the joint and relieve excess pressure. This outpatient procedure takes about 30 minutes and pain relief is almost immediate. In studies, patients have, on average, experienced 80% pain relief, with many reporting life-changing results.

M.I.S.S. specialist, Dr Nikhil Shetty, who performed the procedure, is the first Physician in Northern Indiana to use the PainTEQ® LinQ™ system. The 1st patient to receive the PainTEQ®  procedure graciously agreed to share his experience and results on video, which is available on the M.I.S.S. website at:  ( He described the experience as, “I suffered with pain for over 30 years… It is a success story for me, the results are 100%…I do not have any pain.”

As Dr. Shetty explains, “The PainTEQ® LinQ™ system is an impressive cutting-edge advancement to treat SI Joint dysfunction. It provides a minimally-invasive solution to treat life-diminishing pain that plagues so many patients. This treatment offers a faster recovery time with proven effective results. We’re excited to bring this technology to our patients in Northwest Indiana.”
